Peterhouse prides itself on its wide range of enrichment opportunities, which enable pupils to access a far wider range of activities than normally available.  To date, off-site enrichment activities have included wall climbing, fishing, visits to Bridge Inn Farm, art exhibitions, and concerts at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.  On site activities have included drumming workshops, DJing, alpaca and pony visits, bubble workshops, and circus skills. Themes enrichment days or weeks involve all classes in on and off site activities on a particular theme, such as Express Yourself Day, Careers Week and Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Week.

The multiple enrichment experiences aim to be fun, motivational and enjoyable, in addition to exposing pupils to other adults with specialist knowledge and further opportunities to develop their social and interpersonal skills with less familiar staff.  Giving pupils the opportunity to encounter a wide range of experiences and activities supports the development of interests that can inspire employment ambitions or become life long hobbies, improving quality of life into adulthood.

We offer a range of lunchtime clubs for pupils.

Forest School

Pupils from Peterhouse have the opportunity to access the Forest School site at St Peter’s Church, Formby. This is a natural outdoor woodland area that offer learners an insight into the Forest School ethos. This approach to outdoor learning encourages young people to become independent, use their imagination, take appropriate risks within boundaries and initiate learning for themselves. Forest School is a holistic approach to learning, incorporating individuality and developing skills for lifelong learning. It can cover all six areas of learning, including the emotional and spiritual aspects of learning where self-esteem and self-confidence can grow and positive relationships with peers can be formed. Forest School explores the outdoors and the natural environment with practical, useful activities all year round. It develops peer learning with the staff providing support and enabling activities to take place. The learner’s interest will be at the heart of any activity.
