We welcome enquiries about placements from parents as well as Local Authorities. All placements at Peterhouse are funded by Local Authorities, and in order to consider a pupil for admission, we require a referral from the child’s Local Authority. We require prospective pupils to have a diagnosis of Autism and an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). You can find out more about our admission process in the policy below.
Parents are welcome to make informal enquiries and we offer Open Days to any parents who would like to find out more about our school. Please get in touch to find out more about Open Days, or to book a place on one.
Whilst many pupils start at Peterhouse in September, the school is happy to receive and consider referrals throughout the year, and pupils may be admitted at any time as vacancies arise.
Our criteria for admissions are:
- A diagnosis within the autism spectrum.
- Age between 5 and 19.
- The environment, curriculum and approaches adopted by the school meet the needs of the child/young person and as a result there is potential for
progress. - There is a suitable peer group for the child/young person and they can be successfully accommodated within the mix of young people already in the class where the vacancy occurs.
- Funding should be available from the relevant agency/ies.
