At Peterhouse, we are always striving to develop our practice, as well as sharing our knowledge with others.  Peterhouse is part of a number of networks:

  • Southport Learning Partnership – A group of local schools, dedicated to responding to local issues, planning joint events and sharing training opportunities.
  • Challenge Partners – A ‘network of excellence’, aimed at school improvement through peer reviews
  • National Association of Independent and Non-Maintained Special Schools (NASS) – A group specifically for special schools, supporting practice and ensuring that the voice of special schools is heard at a national level
  • Quality of Life (Qol) –  A community of practitioners from schools, colleges and organisations taking a QoL approach and sharing best practice to support each other on their QoL journeys.
  • Confederation of Service Providers for People with Autism (CoSPPA)

We link to a number of local and regional universities, including Edge Hill, Liverpool Hope, Liverpool John Moores and Cumbria University.  Representatives from Peterhouse have delivered talks to students to help develop their knowledge and understanding of autism, and we regularly welcome students to undertake work placements at Peterhouse.  Students come from a variety of courses, such as Teaching, Nursing, Social Work and Occupational Therapy.  If you are interested in undertaking your work placement at Peterhouse, please ask your university to get in touch with us!

Many of our staff are members of professional organisations and networks, to develop their expertise and share good practice.  These include the Confederation of Service Providers for People with Autism (CoSPPA), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), British Dyslexia Association and the National Network of Special Schools for School Business Professionals (NNoSS).
