‘The work everyone sees happens because of the work no one sees’ – ‘knowledge is a process not a product’

Sometimes we have to remember that the process is the most important thing. Even when I am not in school every single day I am still working hard to remember the things that I need to do to be a successful school dog.

I have to remember to:

  • Use my thinking to help me to know what to do
  • Notice what is going on around me
  • Use my listening skills and work with Lesley (sometimes I forget when a smell on the beach is so very tempting!! So we keep practicing this!!)
  • Know what helps me to stay feeling OK and to do those things to help myself ( I like to run, eat, sniff, snuggle)
  • Keep practicing every day (especially on the beach!!)
  • Never give up

When I work with the children in school it is important that I remember all of these things to help me to do my job properly and to feel OK doing it.

I had an extra half term at home in Spring because Lesley said I couldn’t come into school. I miss my friends but Lesley has kept me busy by thinking and working and practicing so that I can still remember my school dog skills and I will know what to do when I come back after the Easter holidays. What are you going to do at Easter to help you to remember what to do in school and to help you to keep learning? Remember that you can always learn all of the time.
