Shaun’s Profile

As an ex-headteacher, SENCo and leader within Initial Teacher Education, I have more than 20 years’ experience of working in education – in both mainstream and special settings.  I understand the importance of supporting and challenging schools to thrive and progress, whilst ensuring the best outcomes, both academically and socially, for the children and young people. The importance of understanding the individual strengths and needs of the children and young people at Peterhouse cannot be underestimated within the role of the governors.

I have a very good understanding of the most up to date policies and educational landscape, including Ofsted and local and national challenges and priorities facing primary schools and special settings. Through my experience in education, along with my research, I have worked closely with a diverse range of settings and partners across a geographically large area of the North-West of England. Through these networks and an up to date understanding of the local and national agendas within education, I am able to support and contribute to key decisions and policies within Peterhouse to ensure the very best outcomes and experiences for our children and young people, along with maintaining and strengthening the high standing reputation of Peterhouse within the local area.
