Opening Hours
Peterhouse is open Mondays to Fridays during Term Time (31 1/4 hours per week).
Our school day starts with transition time, to support pupils coming into school and help them be ready for learning.
The school day is split into five sessions – 3 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon – with breaks in between. We have found that more but shorter sessions are better suited to our pupils’ learning needs, and allow us to revisit content more often.
At lunch time, pupils have a choice of meals which are freshly cooked on site by our in-house catering team. We will accommodate special diets and will make every effort to meet the specific needs and preferences of individual pupils at meal times. Our kitchen staff team know which pupils like their food with or without sauce, items not touching etc!
At the end of the day, time is given for reflection. Classes use this time to review with pupils how their day has gone, give time for a favoured activity etc; the format for this can vary depending on the needs of each class.
We offer a range of clubs for pupils to take part in during breaks or at the end of the day, such as badminton, Dungeons & Dragons, Lego etc.
The day finishes with transition time again, to help pupils be ready for home time.
Parents receive messages from the class staff team via Class Dojo every day, for example to let parents know about any activities their child has particularly enjoyed, any achievements or small steps they have made, or to share a photo of a big smile!
