Welcome to the PTA section!
Who are we?
Friends of Peterhouse School (FOPS) are a parent led group, in effect a Parent/Teacher association, who in partnership with the staff to improve the lives of our children during their time at the school. We are a registered charity.
FOPS has a small committee consisting of parents, staff and friends who meet on a regular basis. Some of the committee hold elected positions including chair, vice-chair and trustees. Membership is open to all parents/carers and, should you wish to become a committee member you would be made very welcome. Nomination forms for membership are sent out prior to the AGM.
What does FOPS do?
One of our main aims is to raise money to finance projects which will directly benefit our children during their educational years.
Money is raised through various initiatives including sponsored walks and fundraising events. Currently we are seekin to raise in the region of £50,000 in order to completely refurbish the two school playgrounds. To date we have raised in excess of £30,000 so still a long way to go! In May of this year Sainsbury's
FOPS also seeks to provide opportunities for our children/young persons to socialise together and with their siblings by supporting Family Days during the long summer holidays. This gives families the opportunity to come together in a relaxed environment.
FOPS seek to provide support to parents and carers by hosting regular coffee mornings often there is a guest speaker talking on topical issues such as e.g. school nurse, dietician.
How can you help?
As FOPS is a small band of willing volunteers we are always looking for volunteers to help with organising fundraising events. If you feel that you could assist in any way please leave a message at school and one of us will get in touch.
We also have a number of collection boxes. You may have access to a shop or similar premises where one of our boxes can be left. Again, please get in touch with us through school and we will arrange for a collection box to be sent to you.
Another way in which you can help is by attending fund raising events. Please check the calendar section of the website for upcoming events.
